Preston
The church stands a little distance from the old village of Preston, on the slope of a hill, near Preston Manor. St Peter's Church dates from the 13th century, except the new porch and vestry. In Black's 1861 Guide to Sussex frescoes in red and yellow are mentioned. Unfortunately these were mostly destroyed in a fire in 1906. St Peter's is no longer used and is maintained by the Redundant Churches Fund.
