Nicholas Verret was born in 1725 in New Orleans, LA. Nicholas served as Lt Governor and then Commandant and Judge of the First Acadian Coast from 1770 until his death. Nicholas Verret fought in The Revolutionary War.
Nicholas died November 15, 1775 in St. James Parish, LA.

Nicholas married Marie Cantrelle May 2, 1749 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Marie's parents were Jacques Cantrelle and Marguerite De Larnauzieaux.
Marie died in 1779. 

They had the following children:
1. Marie Marguerite Verret was born August 7, 1750 in New Orleans. On February 26, 1781 she married Evan Jones of New York. She died in 1821.

2. Nicolas Verret was born February 28, 1751 in New Orleans, LA. He married Marguerite Toteguy. He died in 1809.

3. Jacques Verret was born November 11, 1752 in New Orleans. He married (1) Elizabeth Marie Duverge on May 6, 1781 and (2) Marguerite Schwitzer. He died in 1833.

4. Auguste Verret was born June 07, 1755 in New Orleans. He married Marguerite Marie Bujol in 1777.

5. Margaret Verret was born May 3, 1757 and died February 11, 1789. She married Solomon Provost.

6. Phillippe Verret was born February 5, 1759 in New Orleans. He married Marie Hebert on July 2, 1783. She was the daughter of Jean Baptiste Hebert and Claire Robicheaud. 

7. Louis PlacideVerret was born in 1760 in New Orleans. He married Marie Patin, daughter of Antoine Patin and Marguerite Mayeau on February 7, 1784 in Point Coupee Parish.
