| Oliver
Jasper West was born in Illinois on 13 Feb
1845 and is believed to be the son of James
Oliver West of Kentucky and Jane (Johnston)
also of Kentucky. He enlisted in the Civil
war and was a private with Co. C of the 28th
IL Infantry. He married Sabylla Harris,
daughter of John and Cynthia (Moore) Harris
in Scott Co., Illinois on 15 Oct 1872 and
they were the parents of Bert, Ida, Nellie,
Charles, Robert, and Benjamin West.
Oliver passed
away at the age of forty-six on 05 Apr 1891
in Guthrie, Oklahoma. His wife passed away at
the age of seventy-seven in Apache, Oklahoma
on 29 Sep 1929. They are laid to rest at the
Navina cemetery in Logan Co., Oklahoma.
