| The
eldest child of Alvah S. & Mary (Metcalf),
William Ellmer Wait was born in Roscoe, St. Clair
Co., Missouri on 16 Jun 1879. A farmer and member
of the Church of God Holyness, he married Abagail
Lingle, daughter of John Matthew and Eliza Jane
(Polly), on 05 Dec 1905 in Kasas City, Jackson
Co., Missouri. The parents of nine children:
William Vica, Alvah, Clarence, John, Nelson, Ray,
Warren and Mary Wait. William died at the age of
73, on 23 Jan 1953 in Independence, Jackson Co.,
Missouri. His wife Cledia lived to be 86, passing
away on 20 Jul 1970. Both were laid to rest at
Pleasant Springs Cemetery in Oyer, St. Clair Co.,
Missouri.
