In 2012 this album came into the loving care of Sandy (Fox) Whitney, great great granddaughter of Sarah (Stratton), wife of Abraham Richard Fox who lived near Reelsville, Putnam Co., Indiana. It is believed that all the photos in the album are related to the Daily, Fox, Stratton and Girton families although many, such as this man, are not identified.

The only known relations of Sarah (Fox) Stratton to have lived in this area of Kansas were the James T. Butler family who had previously resided in Reelsville, Putnam Co., Indiana. Paul, the son of James T. Butler and his wife, Hester (McCullough) was born in Council Grove in 1888 - so perhaps the photo can be associated with one of these families, however, it's important to keep in mind that most photographers also re-printed or made copies of earlier photos.
