| Clifton
Park - bounded on the south by the Mohawk River,
the southern portion of the town is about fifteen
miles from from Ballston Spa, the county seat,
and about the same distance from Albany. It was
the last town organized in the county and was
formed from Half-Moon in 1828 The Mohawk Valley
attracted settlers sometime prior to 1667, and
listed in records prior to the organization of
Half-Moon in 1788, the name of Richard Peters was
recorded as settling north of Vischer's ferry and
was the father of Samuel and William.
Halfmoon -
bordered by both the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers,
and at that junction where Fort Orange was
established at Albany, the white men had settled
in this area as early as 1680. The name of
Richard Peters is recorded in the third town
meeting held in 1790.
