The son of William and Jenny (Buzentine) or (Brizendine), "Ned" was born 22 Aug 1796 in Virginia, but by 1850 was living in White Oak, Jefferson County, Arkansas with his first wife Priscilla Hurley. The couple had two sons and two daughters. After his wife's death, Ned married Sarah E. Roach in Hopkins, Red River Co., Texas and they were the parents of three sons and two daughters..

Ned died on 15 Jan 1878 in Denton Co., Texas and was laid to rest at Chinn Chapel Cemetery.
