  - A brief introduction of the album's history
Front & inside cover of photograph album Sandy's great great grandfather, Abraham Fox, was born in Reelsville, Putnam Co., Indiana, and married Sarah Stratton, the daughter of Elizabeth F. (Daily) and Stephen Stratton. Their son, and Sandy's great grandfather, Albert Fox, was also also born in Reelsville, and was married to Laura Jane Girton.

Albert, Laura and their children moved to Rugby, North Dakota in 1900 when her grandfather, Loren Fox, was about ten years old. Loren homesteaded with his brother Vernon in Saskatchewan in 1910, and was married to Lottie Glasgow in North Dakota in 1915, she also moving to Saskatchewan. Loren and Vernon’s younger sister, Hazel, eventually moved to Radville, Saskatchewan where she met and married Robert McNaughton. This photo album eventually ended up in Hazel and Bob’s farmhouse. In the late 1990’s the photo album was moved to their son Doug’s house, nearby.

In July 2012, Sandy went to Radville, Saskatchewan to see her second cousins, going first to Doug’s home bringing all the photos and albums that they could find back to her 2nd cousin, Christine’s house where the family went over all the photos. They generously gave Sandy all the photos and albums to take back to Victoria, BC with her in order to scan the photos and research the identities of the persons photographed.

The album is very old and not in good shape. It is not known who the photo album originally belonged to, and though some of the photos have been identified as Albert Fox, his siblings, a few of Laura Girton's family, and some of Sarah Stratton's family, many are unidentified.

There is a possibility that the photographic album did originally belong to Sarah (Stratton) Fox and was passed down to her son Albert & wife Laura (Girton) Fox - and thus we have given it its title. Overall, it is an assortment of the various lines of these families, and as the photos have undoubtedly been removed and replaced in no particular order over the many, many years - many are left unidentified, and it's our hope that someone viewing this treasured photographic album will be fortunate to notice a photo of their ancestor and email Sandy or Patti with a positive identification.

We hope you enjoy the album as much as we have enjoyed sharing it. Sincerely, Sandy (Fox) Whitney & P. Davidson-Peters (2013)
