| Born on 04 Mar 1852 in
Gerlaw, Warren Co., Illinois, Roland was the 2nd
eldest son and child of Samuel and Cornelia
(Buck). He came with his parents to Pettis Co.,
Missouri in 1865 and there he married Harriet E.
Dulaban, daughter of Nelson and Catherine on 10
Jan 1878. Roland and Harriet were
the parents of Nelson, Carrie, Arthur, Ida,
Albert, Leo and Teddy Smith. He died in Smithton,
Pettis Co., Missouri on 16 Dec 1941. His wife
Hattie died almost five years later on 19 July
1946 and both were laid to rest at the Smithton
Cemetery.
