| Born on 31 Mar 1889 in
Warrensburg, Benton Co., Missouri, Norman was the
youngest child of Ryan and Sarah (Dulaban). When
his parents died in 1896, his older brother
Edward took on the responsibility of raising him. In 1897, Edward
married Hattie B. (Sutton) and the family moved
to Washington Co., Colorado where their first
home was sod. There they raised horses and farmed
wheat.
In 1910
Norman married Laura M. Hart of Missouri and were
the parents of Bertrand L. and Rosalee Smith.
They resided in Nevada, Vernon Co., Missouri
where Norman had a Whippet Car Dealership.
After
his death in 1928, Laura moved to Springfield,
Missouri and there she ran a boarding house. She
passed away on 20 aug 1910.
