Smith, son of Thomas C. Smith and Mary "Polly" Peters. They were the parents of John, Abel, and Mary, wife of David Knowlton.

Samuel died in 1826 and on 27 Mar 1830 Judith married Daniel Knowlton, the son of John and Mary (Manning). Daniel died on 08 Jul 1839, Judith surviving forty years into her widowhood. She died at the age of 81 years, 7 months, and 28 days, having lived with her step-son David, who had married her daughter Mary Smith in 1846.

Judith and Daniel were both laid to rest in Vale Cemetery.
