| Ryan, the eldest child of
Samuel Smith and Cornelia (Buck), was born on 17
Jun 1850 in Warren Co., Illinois. He married
Sarah E. Dulaban, daughter of Nelson and
Catherine (Deale) in Smithton, Pettis Co.,
Missouri on 08 Mar 1874. They were the parents of
Eddie or E.O. and Norman, and two daughters (Ada
and Myrtle) who died when young. Their deaths came
within months of each other, Sarah passing on 11
Apr 1896 and Ryan on the 29th of June. They were
laid to rest in the Smithton Cemetery.
Norman,
who was raised by his older brother after their
parents' death, became a school teacher in
Colorado but later returned to Missouri where he
was a car dealer.
