| The
wedded couple was married in Smithton, Pettis
Co., Missouri on 30 Aug 1887. Charles, the son of
Samuel & Cornelia (Buck) was born on 03 May
1864, the very day that General Grant began his
campaign to take the Confederate Capital of
Richmond. They were the parents of
at least Elmore who was born in 1889, May who was
born in 1894 and Lizzy who was born in 1906.
Sometime prior to 1900 they moved to
Benton Co., Missouri where they were enumerated
that year and as late as 1910.
Prior to
1920, they removed to Akron, Washington Co.,
Colorado where Charles died on 28 Mar 1945. He
had lived to see his country engaged in the
Spanish American War and World War I, but died a
few months shy of the horrific atomic bomb
attacks during World War II on Japan.
