Very little has yet been found on this family and only two by this name were located in the records of Clark County, Indiana.  Lucius Russell was born in Kentucky in New York in 1805 and married Mary A. True. They were listed in the 1850 Clark County census as living in Bethlehem Twp.  Lucious was listed as a 45 year-old farmer whose household included 28 year old Mary who was born in Indiana; William age 14; James age 9; Riley age 7, Fanny age 4; and John Russell age six months - all of whom were born in Indiana. 

Another Russell was located as living in Jeffersonville in 1850.  This Samuel Russell was an engine builder who had been born in Virginia in about 1808.  Living with him in this household was his wife Catherine who had also born in Virginia (1818); Joseph age 15, Isarel age 12, Charles age 10, John age 8; and Mary age five - all of whom were born in Indiana.
