In brief, this family descends from
a Jeremiah Rand of New Hampshire. It appears that
he was the father of Jeremiah and Charles by a
previous wife, and then married Tryphenia Brown
on 23 Jun 1857 in Whiteside, Illinois and were
the parents of Ida May Rand - my 2nd great
grandmother.
Ida
was born in December of 1858 in Woosung, Ogle
Co., IL and married Franklin F. Johnson in Ogle
Co., IL on 01 Nov 1876. Her husband was the son
of Harvey and Mary Jane (Wheat) and they were the
parents of: Fred, Grace, Raymond, Pearl, George,
Maude, DeForest, and one child who appears to
have died young.
