Mont
and Lizzie Pilcher's youngest child, Eugene
Pilcher. He was born in January 1883, and died in
1950. He served two stints in the U.S. Navy, each
of four years (1907-1911, 1917-1921).
Eugene
completed his first tour at age twenty-eight.
He's the sailor pictured standing in this photo
which was probably taken between 1907-1911.
His
military discharge papers describe him as 5'
7" tall, and 135 lbs. He had dark brown
hair, dark complexion, and brown eyes .. and a
tattoo on his left forearm of a "jap lady
and fan". His civilian occupation was
"painter".
Gene
never married, but lived out his life with his
sister Etta in St. Louis.
