BORN: 28 July 1825 in Boston, Suffolk Cunty, MA
No records for Matilda's place of birth appear to coincide with one another, though most of the time she indicates she was born in French Canada. However, other census records list Ohio and Vermont. Her obituary states she was born in Boston and shortly thereafter moved to Montreal. She was said to have been orphaned in 1833 at which time she was raised by her grandmother in Bakersfield, though whether the maternal or paternal grandmother, is not known.

MARRIED: 30 June 1842 in Bakersfield, Franklin Co., VT
Pension records indicate she was married here by John Morse, Justice of the Peace.

DIED: 06 January 1902, Brownsdale, Mower Co., MN
Was living with her only son George at the time she passed away.

RESIDED: Born in Boston, MA but very early in her life moved to Montreal. At the age of eight (1833) she was left an orphan and raised by her grandmother in Bakersfield, VT; After marriage in 1842 lived in New York and Vermont where they sold their property and bought land in Illinois. In 1861 came to Minnesota to the village of Winona and after her husband's death, lived in Whalen, Rushford and finally Brownsdale where she came in May of 1891.
