1915 Public Sale of Ruben Breeden's (Deceased) Farm

Ruben, the son of Job & Sarah E. (Brackney) Breeden, was born on 03 Nov 1841 in Rockingham Co., Virginia. At the age of eight he was still living in that county where he was enumerated with his parents and siblings in the 56½ District.

By 1860 the family had moved to Cooper Co., Missouri and most of the older children were married and moved from home. Ten years later, he was still living with his parents who had then moved to St. Clair Co., Missouri but he married Amorett Wait, the daughter of Solomon & Eliza (Smith), the following year.

They continued to reside in St. Clair a number of years, but then went to Fort Bend Co.,Texas where Amorett died in about 1898. Widowed, he returned to St. Clair Co., Missouri and then moved to Rogers Co., Oklahoma. There he died on 10 Mar 1915 in Claremore. His inscription at Sandridge Cemetery reads: "This man lived well and loved hier, And those he loved in life, In death are near."

A public sale of his farm was auctioned off after his death as noted in the above news advertisement which has been duplicated for the web from an original contributed by Patty Breeden Furrer (2007).
