| Tom
was the first of Tom and Clarissa's children
to survive infancy. He was born on the 15th
of October 1867 in St. Louis, Missouri. From
family notes, it appears his middle name may
have been given him to bring back the Anthony
name into the family as his mothers ancestry
dated back to Anthony family of Virginia who
were Quakers. While a young man, he began
engaging in the lumber industry in Chicago
and met and secretly married a rich debutante
by the name of Rebecca Tebbetts. She was the
daughter of Lewis B. Tebbetts, the
Vice-President of the Mansur & Tebbetts
Implement Company which had once been
established by John Deere under the Deere
& Mansur Company.
Married in
1895, the separation and later their divorce
was written up in the St. Louis society
column . Rebecca sought divorce and the
following year married Lloyd Rickarts, the
Secretary of the Brown's baseball team.
After living
in Chicago and Texas, Tom moved to California
and lived in Los Angeles. He married a second
time, to Eleanor Chase, and they were the
parents of Thomas Moore, Jr.
Eleanor, who
had been born in Illinois on 26 Apr 1886,
passed away in Los Angeles on 01 July 1950.
Tom's death came in Los Angeles on 27
February 1948.
