here in about 1865 with his wife and youngest
son, Samuel Peters Ladow was born in Columbia,
Herkimer Co., New York in 1811. The son of Thomas
Ladoe and Jerusha (Peters), he was united in
marriage on 11 Aug 1831 with Sarah Maria (Wright)
in Esperence, Schoharie, New York where her
father Calvin Wright was living. They were the parents of
Thomas S., Sarah W., Mary A., Calvin W., Louisa
J., Alice J., and John Samuel La Due, who is
pictured here at about age nine. Samuel died in
Fertile, Polk Co., Minnesota in 1889 and his
widow in 1900.
Note: Family name
has been spelled LaDue, Ladue, Ladew, Ladoe,
Ladow - descendants of the immigrant Pierre
Ladoux.
