Pearl Edna Johnson, pictured left, was the fourth child born to Franklin and Ida, and the first born in Cherokee County, Iowa. She was born on 3 April 1884 and lived there until 1899 at which time she moved with her family to Wadena, Minnesota. A few years later, in 1902, Pearl married the neighboring farm boy, Robert Davidson, whose parents were both born in Scotland. They left their homeland and went to Canada where Robert was born in Minto, Ontario in 1882. Shortly after his birth, the family entered the United States and settled in Wadena, Minnesota where they lived there the remainder of their lives.

Pearl and Robert left Wadena and moved to Barnes County, North Dakota in about 1910 and lived in Baldwin Township, in a small community known as Luverne. They were the parents of fifteen children, including a set of twin boys, one of which died in infancy. Although Robert passed away while in Bottineau, ND in 1950 and Pearl in Ada, MN in 1965, both are laid to rest at the Wadena City Cemetery near Robert's parents.

Grace Johnson (center), the eldest daughter of Franklin and Ida, was born 29 December 1879 in Ogle County, Illinois where the family lived until removing first to Cherokee County, IA and then to Wadena, Minnesota in 1899. In 1901, Grace married George F. Holly who was born in Lee County, Illinois in 1876 and was the son of David Holly & Callie (Bovey).

They later lived in Hewitt, Todd County, MN where George operated a blacksmith shop until 1924 when it was sold and they moved to Breckenridge, where they engaged in farming. They farmed in that area until 1930 when they returned to Hewitt and Mr. Holly again engaged in blacksmithing. He followed this trade until 1944 and then spent two years in casual labor which was culminated in the building of the home in which he and his wife died in a tragic fire on 28 February 1955. They were the parents of eight children: Rex, Earl, Ford, Hazel, Gerald, and Glenice. Two sons preceded them in death, George Bruce who died at the age of two in 1919 and son David who passed the year prior, dying in a construction accident in Alaska.

Maude Johnson (right), the 7th child of Franklin and Ida's thirteen children, was born on the third day of December 1890 in Cherokee County, Iowa.
