Albert
J. Hoge was born on the 19th of August 1869 in
Fayetteville, Washington Co., Arkansas. He was
the son of Dr. James M. Hoge and Louise (McKlen).
Dr. J.M. Hoge had been born in that place in
about 1835 and had been the first man to open a
drug store in Eureka Springs, Arkansas where
remained actively engaged in the practice of
medicine for many years. He gave up the
profession only a few years before coming to East
St. Louis in 1895.
Albert
married Emma Pilcher in St. Louis, Missouri in
about 1896 and were the parents of two children,
Helen and Lawrence Hoge.
Emma
was the daughter of "Mont" and Lizzie
Pilcher. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on
01 July 1869 and passed away in Conception Jct.,
Missouri in 1961. Albert passed away on 22 April
1943 in Oak Park, Cook County, Illinois.
