| Pearl was
born to Franklin F. Johnson and his wife Ida
May (Rand) on the third of April in 1884. She
was the first of their children to have been
born in Sheridan, Cherokee County, Iowa. Before her birth, Frank and Ida
had lived in Lee County, Illininois where
Pearl's paternal grandfather, Harvey Johnson,
had come from Bainbridge, NY in Chenango
county in the year 1845. There, he had
married Mary Jane Wheat and they had raised
six children, including Pearl's father Frank.
Pearl's older siblings
(Fred, Grace & Raymond) were all born in
Lee County, Illinois and the younger ones
born in Iowa where the family lived until at
least 1895. By 1900, the Johnson family had
moved to Wadena County, Minnesota; and in
1902 Pearl married Robert, the son of William
and Janet (Arbuckle) Davidson who had
emigrated first from Scotland to Canada
(where Robert was born) and then to Wadena.
Robert and Pearl were
the parents of fourteen children. The first
six (Lucille, vivian, Kenneth, Harold, Donald
"Dick" and Raymond) were all born
in Minnesota. Some time between February of
1909 and May of 1910, the Davidson family
moved to Barnes County, North Dakota and the
remaining children (Vernon, William, Wayne,
Roland "Butch", Russell, Margaret,
Ida and Bernice) were born there in Baldwin
Township.
Pearl's husband passed
away on the 5th of May 1950 in Bottineau,
North Dakota, just about fifteen years before
Pearl, who passed away on the 11th of May
1965 in Ada, Norman county, MN where her
daughter Lucille was living.
Pearl and Robert are
laid to rest in the Wadena City Cemetery in
Block 4, Row 2, Lot 8 near Robert's parents
and his brothers Alexander and Charles
Davidson.
