| The daughter of
Francesco Saverio Rossomanno and Mariangela
Criserá, Eleanora was born in Casino or
Papanice, Calabria, Italy on 02 Apr 1893. She
married Armando Laratta, son of Marziale and
Teresa (Prato) in Italy in about 1914. Following
her husband to St. Louis, she emigrated to the
United States, arriving on the Patria on 08 Jan
1921 with her son Pantaleone who was then about
five years of age. According to the passenger
records, she was 4'11" tall, fair skin,
brown eyes and chesnut hair. They became the parents of
Anthony, Theresa, Elvera, Mary, Calandina,
Joseph, William and baby Alfred who died in
infancy.
Eleanora was
widowed in 1937 at the age of forty-four and
later married Jonas Cappaletti. She passed away
at the age of sixty-two years, nine months and
five days. She was laid to rest beside Armando at
Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis.
