Hattie & Sarah Dulaban

Daughters of William "Nelson" and Mary "Catherine" (Deale) and sisters to Henry, Hattie and Sarah both married sons of Samuel Smith & Cornelia (Buck). Prior to their marriages, they resided in Hancock, Illinois in 1860 where they were enumerated with their parents in Sonora Township in June.

By 1870 the family was residing in Smith City, Pettis Co., Missouri and on 08 Mar 1874 Sarah married Ryan Smith and were the parents of Eddie, Ada, Myrtle and Norman Smith. Both daughters died at a young age.

Sarah died at only forty-one years of age on 11 April 1896, and her husband Ryan died two months and 18 days later on the 29th of June leaving Norman to be raised by their eldest son Eddie.

Sarah's sister Hattie lived to be over 88 years old. Born during the "Panic of 1857" Hattie married Roland (the younger brother of Ryan) when he was almost twenty-five and she was twenty. They were married in Smithton on 10 Jan 1878 and were the parents of at least eight children: Alvey, Nelson, Carrie, Arthur, Ida, Albert, Leo and Teddy Smith.

Hattie lived through some very depressed times as well as those filled with inventions and discoveries. She passed away on 19 Jul 1946. All four were laid to rest in the Smithton Cemetery in Pettis Co., Missouri.
