"Grandma" shown
here, is Eunice Matilda (Short), who
was born in Shipman, Macoupin Co.,
Illinois on 15 Aug 1859. The daughter
of Martin Short, a Civil War soldier
who died in the infamous
Andersonville Prison, and his wife
Matilda (Norman), she was married in
Minnesota in the year 1875 to Albro
Benvard Danforth, noted here as
"Grandpa."
Albro,
who was born in Essex Co., Vermont to
William H. Danforth and Marianne N.
(Morse) in 1847, patented 160 acres
of land in Barnes Co., North Dakota
on 10 Nov 1890. This photo was
probably taken in 1902 about five
years before they left North Dakota
and went to Taber, Alberta, Canada.
