| Lizzy
was born Elizabeth M. Daily on 17 June 1837 in
Charlestown, Clark County, Indiana and was the
youngest daughter of David and Mary. Lizzy's husband
was William James. He was son of Beverly W. James
and Matilda (Day) and was born on 04 Oct 1822 in
Mason Co., Kentucky. He married his first wife,
Sarah or "Sallie" Mayberry in 1851 and
had by her five children, the first having died
in infancy in 1852, and the four surviving being
Lora, Luella, Belle, and William James.
After
his wife Sallie passed away in 1867, he and his
children temporarily lived with his mother and on
13 March 1872, he married Lizzy. A short nine
months later, William James died and Lizzy
returned to live with her mother.
Lizzy
Daily-James was the mother of one son, Jimmy
James. In 1900 she was listed as head of
household, and her household included her son
James as well as her sister Louisa, nephew Frank
S. Daily amd a retired lodgers. She died on 14
April 1925 in Charlestown and was laid to rest in
the Charlestown Cemetery.
