| Son of Jacob Daily who was
born in Clark County, Indiana in 1812, and Jane
Beckett, the daughter of William and Jane
(Shawhan), John Wesley Daily was born in Adams
Co., Illinois on April 8th, 1847. He
had removed with his parents to Hancock Co.,
Illinois when a young lad and settled near
Carthage. At the age of twenty-seven he married
Miss Selina Irene McKinley and had by her six
children: Gertrude, William, Lulu, Clyde, John,
and Daisy Daily.
After the death of Selina,
who died in 1891, he married Mrs. Electa Irene
Clark Berger who was previously married to
William Berger who had died in 1888. Together
"Irene" and John had five more children
in addition to the three (Mayme, Minnie, William)
from her marriage to William. These children
were: Gladys who died in her infancy, Juanita,
twin sons Lloyd and Floyd, and daughter
Maurgerite.
