| Frank's father, Seth S.
Daily, was born on 09 March 1839 in Charlestown,
Clark County, Indiana. He was the son of David W.
Daily and Mary (Shirley) and married Barbara
Stierheim on 06 October 1864. Barbara,
the daughter of Francis Joseph Stierheim of
France, and his wife Sarah (Neely), was born in
Charlestown on 04 Sep 1842 and was their eldest
daughter. She and Seth were the parents of David
Wise; Francis (pictured); Shirley, who was
residing with her Aunt Indiana Ricketts in 1880;
Charles Edward; and daughter Jessie, wife of
George Waters Wood.
His mother Barbara died on
09 Mar 1875, and sometime afterwards his father
left Indiana and removed to California. He was
enumerated in the 1880 Federal Census living in
San Diego, listed as a forty-year old widowed
farmer. He died in Chico, Butte Co., California
on 24 Aug 1888.
According to the 1900
census, Frank was born in April of 1868. At the
time the census was taken, he was residing with
his aunt, Lizzie James and was listed as a 32
year-old plumber. He died 03 Jan 1909 and was
laid to rest at Charlestown Cemetery.
