North Dakota - a chronology of the Davidson & Neagle families
 
Note: The following time line was compiled by P. Davidson-Peters in regard to the descendants of Clara A. Danforth, wife of William Neagle and daughter of Albro B. Danforth and Eunice Matilda Short; and the family of Robert Davidson & Pearl Edna Johnson, the latter being my great grandparents. - pdp
 
1883 Pearl Olive Danforth, daughter of Albro and Eunice (Short), is born on the 31st of January in Oriska. The family had been living in Saratoga, Winona, Minnesota. She later marries John Evans Olson.
1885 Families of Andrew Danforth (wife Jennie Birge), William and Peter Ferguson (father of Clarina and Elizabeth), as well as individuals Frank H. and Albro Danforth are listed in the Territorial Census.
1886 Ruby Etta Danforth, daughter of Albro and Eunice (Short), is born on the 16th of February, possibly in Valley City. She later marries K.F. Moffitt.
1887 Frank H. Danforth, son of William H. and Marianne (Morse), patents 160 acres of land at Meridan 5, Twp 142N Range 057W of section 12 on the 20th of December.
1888 Harry Martin Danforth, son of Albro and Eunice (Short), is born on the 29th of March. He later marries Daisy Rorabeck and lives in Canada.
1890 On the 3rd of November, Albro B. Danforth, son of William H. and Marianne (Morse), patents 160 acres of land at Meridian 5, Twp 143N, Range 057W of Section 24.
1892 Everett Dewitt Danforth, son of Albro and Eunice (Short), is born on the 29th of October. He later marries Mable Knappen and lives in Canada.
1892 William Francis Neagle, son of John and Ellen (Croty) who was born in Chatsworth, Illinois, moves to Barnes county.
1899 On May 3rd, Willie A. Danforth, son of William H. and Marianne (Morse), patents 160 acres of land near Oriska at Meridian 5, Twp 143N, Range 057W of Section 34.
1900 Listed in the Barnes County 1900 Census living in Oriska, is Lula (Danforth), her husband Louis Burson, and her son Charlie Powers from a previous marriage.
1900 Baldwin Township lists two Danforth households in the 1900 Census - young Willie Danforth and wife Clarissa (Ferguson) along with his mother Marianne (Morse); the second household is that of Albro Danforth and his wife Eunice (Short) along with their ten children.
1904 William F. Neagle marries Clara A. Danforth, the daughter of Albro B. Danforth and his wife Eunice Matilda Short on November 28th.
1905 William Henry Neagle, son of William and Clara, is born in Luverne on the 12th of September.
1908 Gladys Neagle, daughter of William and Clara, is born in Luverne on the 15th of November.
1909 The family of Robert Davidson and Pearl Edna (Johnson) move from Roseau, Minnesota where Robert and his brother Will had been operating a mill and later where Robert had worked in a lumber camp - to Barnes County, North Dakota where they begin farming.
1910 Four families are listed in the 1910 Census living in Baldwin Township:
1910 Francis Neagle, son of William and Clara, is born in Luverne on 07 August.
1910 Francis Neagle, son of William and Clara, dies on the 3rd of September.
1910 Gladys Neagle, daughter of William and Clara, dies on the 2nd of October.
1910 Sometime between the fall and winter of 1910, Robert moved his family to Barnes County, North Dakota
1910 Vernon William Davidson, the son of Robert and Pearl, is born on 18 December in Baldwin township. He later moves to Phoenix, Arizona.
1911 William Davidson, son of Robert and Pearl, is born on the 6th of January. He meets Christine Bassett while stationed in Georgia, marries, and later removes to Eugene, Oregon.
1911 Ruth Ann Neagle, daughter of William and Clara, is born in Luverne on the 27th of July.
1913 Helen Neagle, daughter of William and Clara, marries Lesley Erickson in Valley City on the 15 th of March.
1913 Wayne Davidson, son of Robert and Pearl, is born on the 3rd of April and dies six weeks later.
1913 Clara Constance "Connie" Neagle, daughter of William and Clara, is born in Luverne on the 3rd of May.
1914 Gertrude Neagle, daughter of William and Clara, is born on the 4th of November.
1915 Roland Davidson, son of Robert and Pearl is born on the 6th of March. He dies on Christmas day in 1964. Never married. His twin, Russell, dies on April 3rd.
1916 Margaret Davidson, daughter of Robert and Pearl, is born on the 7th of April. She later marries Ingvald Lyngby in Hannaford and laer removed to Port Orford, Oregon. She died on 30 June 1967.
1917 Mildred Irene Neagle, daughter of William and Clara, is born on the 26th of October.
1918 Ida Larraine Davidson, daughter of Robert and Pearl, is born on January 6th. She died on 07 October 1922.
1920 Bernice Davidson, daughter of Robert and Pearl, is born on 01 October. She married Gordon Kiedrowski and lived in Fargo, North Dakota.
1925 William Neagle, husband of Clara (Danforth) and father of one son and four daughters, dies twenty four days before his 55th birthday. (Census records, however, locate him as age 3 in 1870 and age 12 in 1880)
1929 About the time the depression hit and their youngest daughter was about nine years old, Robert Davidson gave up farming and went into the meat business in Luverne and Hannaford, as did his sons Harold, Dick, Bill, and Butch (Roland).
1933 In the spring, Vernon Davidson rents a farm with a lovely big house on it, plants his first crop and begins raising cattle for his father and brothers who had left ranching during the depression and became butchers in a neighboring town.
1934 On 31 May, Vernon Davidson, son of Robert and Pearl (Johnson) marries Connie Neagle, daughter of William and Clara, in Valley City.
1934 William Neagle, son of William and Clara, marries Josephine Mathistad in Valley City on the 19th of September.
1935 With two years of drought, Vernon and Connie Davidson auction everything off on the farm and Vernon and one of the farmhands head out to Arizona in the fall to work on the dams. Connie and her widowed mother Clara (Danforth) follow by way of Greyhound bus to Phoenix.
1936 Mildred Irene Neagle, daughter of William and Clara, marries Leo H. Thomsen in Valley City on the 8th of January.
