Moses was born in 1762 and died in 1820. In 1798, Moses married Elizabeth, daughter of John and Rachel (Dawson) Cash. Census records indicate she was born in Maryland sometime between 1865 and 1867. She died in 1855 in Clark Co., Indiana.

It is believed that Moses was the son of Aaron and is listed in his 1824 Last Will and Testament as having been deceased. Aaron Lewman who was born about 1740, was residing in Maryland in about 1760, but by the mid 1780's was in Rowan/Iredell Counties of North Carolina where records indicate most of his children were born.

The children of Moses and Elizabeth (Cash) were: Cecelia, John, Milas, Elizabeth, Silas, Isaiah, and Nancy Lewman.

John B. Lewman, son of Moses and Elizabeth (Cash), was born in North Carolina on 02 October 1802 and died in Clark County, Indiana on 10 Nov 1894. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Grisamore) who was born 01 July 1808 and died 01 July 1848.

They were the parents of five children: George, Sarah, Nancy J., Mary Ann, and John C. Lewman.

1870 and 1880 census records indicate John married a second time, wife listed in his household is Catherine who was born in Kentucky in about 1815

Thomas, son of Milas and Nancy (Prather) Lewman, was born in Indiana in October of 1846. He married Mary E. Steelman on February 2, 1882 in Clark Co., Indiana.

Mary was born January 1854 in Ohio, and is speculated to be the daughter of William Steelman of Ohio who was a lime manufacturer in Charlestown.

Mary and Thomas were the parents of Cash A. Lewman who was born in 1885 and married Susie M. Bottorff; and Frank S. Lewman who was born in 1887 and married Adeline Bigelow.

He married Susan M. Bottorff on on 07 Oct 1908, she was born 04 Jan 1885 and is believed to be the daughter of Calvin Bottorff and Edith Crum. She died 09 March 1985, and was the mother of Ruth, Mary Catherine, Viola Mae, Lois Irene, Edith Rachel, Clara Belle, Cash Richard, and Sue Ann Lewman.
