EZEKIEL TERPENING
1778-1861
Ezekiel Terpening was born 05 Aug 1778 in Clifton Park, Saratoga Co., New York and as state on his headstone, visited the region of Warren Co., Illinois in 1835.

He married Olive Peake on 12 Apr 1807 in New York and returned to Illinois with his wife and children in 1836. Ezekiel died on 09 Jul 1861 at the age of 82 years, 11 mos, and 4 days. His wife died on 08 Feb 1865 at the age of 79 years, nine months and one day.

John Peck Terpening was born 12 Apr 1811 in Clifton Park, Saratoga Co., New York and came with his parents to Illinois in 1836. Prior to his arrival in Illinois, he married Mindwell Smith, daughter of Richard and Sally (Peck), on 24 Sep 1835. They were the parents of Smith, John W., Sarah A., Harrison P., Olive, Nathan A., Charels and Edwin.

John died on 02 Jan 1892 and his wife Mindwell in 1900.

The daughter of Richard and Betsy (Peters), Mindwell was born on 02 Apr 1813 in Clifton Park, Saratoga Co., NY. She married John Peck Terpening son of Ezekiel Terpening and Olive (Peake) on 24 Sep 1835 in Clifton Park, Saratoga Co., NY. John was born on 12 Apr 1811 in Clifton Park and had moved to Illinois in May of 1835. He and Mindwell resided in Kelly Twp., Warren Co., Illinois.

John Terpening died on 02 Jan 1892 in Kelly Twp., Warren Co., IL and Mindwell's death followed on 20 Mar 1900. They were the parents of Smith, John W., Sarah Ann, Harrison P., Olive, Nathan Alonzo, Charles W., and Edwin E. Terpening.
