Born in Ohio in about 1820, he
married Margaret Adeline (Brown) in Fayette
County, IL on 25 Mar 1858. Their family was
enumerated in the 1880 census in Otego Twp.,
consisting of children: Henry; Harvey; Louisa;
Susan; Edward; Cordelia; and David Williams.
Josiah died on 08 December 1893.
Josiah's
wife Margaret, is possibly the daughter of Henry
Pilcher who was born in Logan County, Kentucky on
14 April 1808 and who served as 2nd Lt. in the
1832 Black Hawk War. His first wife was Susan
Pilcher whom he married on 03 May 1832 and his
second wife was Ann Austin whom he married on 22
November 1841. Henry died on 16 Oct 1856 and is
believed that his daughter Margaret was born on
09 Feb 1839 and died on 28 July 1893.
