| The son of James Sutton
Peters & Susan (Squires), Richard was
born in Delaware Co., New York on 02 Jul
1832. His mother passed away when Richard
was about fifteen years old, and he was
placed with family - living at one time
with his uncle, George Peters, in
Petersburg, Michigan. Richard became
interested in lumber and salt mining and
became extremely successful, owning many
businesses and salt mines in Manistee,
Michigan.
Richard
was twice married, but had no children.
He died in Manistee on 01 Apr 1927.
