| According to the
Biographical Review of Calhoun County,
Michigan, the beautiful cemetery (then
called Marshall) is comprised of
fifty-six acres, with the fiirst burial
having been made on the 26th of June of
1839. In 1898, the supervision and of the
cemetery came under the careful
management of James O. Van Zandt who was
the son of Emily (Wagner) and Bornt Van
Zandt. His uncle John Wagner was married
to Cephrona (Rhodes), the daughter of
Charles and Betsey Ann (Peters). |
