| WILLIAM ARBUCKLE
& MARGARET (STRUTHERS) |
| William, the son of William
Arbuckle & Janet (Dyer), was born in
Carmunnock, Lanark, Scotland on 03 Oct
1808. He married "His Beloved
Wife" Margaret Struthers, daughter
of Robert, 29 Nov 1833 in Eastwood,
Renfrew, Scotland. They emigrated along
with his parents and three of his
siblings to Canada. William died in
Minto Township on 29 Dec 1883. His wife,
who was born in August of 1813, died on
15 Jan 1894.

| MARGARET (ARBUCKLE),
ROBERT KERR & DAUGHTERS |
| Margaret Arbuckle, daughter
of William Arbuckle & Janet (Dyer),
was born 16 Aug 1824 in Carmunnock,
Lanark, Scotland. She married Robert Kerr
there on 28 Jun 1850 and three years
later they emigrated with her parents,
three siblings, and their daughter Janet,
to Canada. While on the 1853 voyage,
their daughter Christena was born near
Newfoundland. They settled in Minto
Township, Wellington, Ontario on Lot 75,
Concession D and Robert was considered
one of Minto's most respected pioneers in
the Wellington County. Daughter Janet,
included on the headstone, died at the
age of 26 on 17 Mar 1876 and according
the register of death, was the wife of
Robert Bennett. Daughter Christena, who
was born at sea, is not known to have
married; and may have died in Toronto in
1942.
Other
children of Robert and Margaret were:
John, who married Jessie Dryden; William;
Robert, who married Lil Slemon; Margaret,
who married Walter C. Dryden; and Thomas
who married Mary "Priscilla"
Broughton.

JOHN KERR
"Beloved Farewell" |
| John Kerr, son of Robert
Kerr and Margaret (Arbuckle), was born in
Minto Township. He married Jessie Dryden
on 23 Dec 1885, daughter of Walter K.
Dryden & Charlotte (Green) and sister
of Walter who married John's sister
Margaret Kerr. John died in a logging
accident on 21 Mar 1895. His wife Jessie
was born 21 Dec 1863 in North Dumfries
Twp., Ontario and died on 13 Mar 1951 in
Galt, Ontario. She is believed to be
buried in Mount View Cemetery.
They were
the parents of Luvern, Charlotte, and
John R. Kerr. Their first son, also named
John R., was born in 1890 and died in
1891, his inscription listed on the east
side of his father's marker as noted
below.

of his father's marker. It is believed
that his parents had a second son, John
Robert Kerr, born on 01 Oct 1892. |

| WALTER CAIRNS DRYDEN |
| The son of Walter Kerr
Dryden of Scotland and Charlotte Green of
Ireland, Walter C. Dryden was born and
raised in Galt, Ontario. He settled in
Minto Township in 1883 where he purchased
one hundred acres and established
Dryden's Mill which produced barn
timbers, planks, lathes, bed slats, chair
legs and shingles. He married his
neighbor, Margaret Kerr (daughter of
Robert) on 22 Apr 1886 and served the
township as Councillor. Note: Walter's
sister, Jessie Dryden, married Margaret's
brother John Kerr. It is believed she was
born 21 Dec 1866 and was laid to rest at
Mount View Cemetery.

| MARGARET KERR |
| The daughter of Robert Kerr
and Margaret (Arbuckle), Margaret was the
sister of Janet, Christena, John,
William, Robert, and Thomas Kerr. Her
mother Margaret was born in Carmnnock,
Lanark, Scotland in 1824 and was a
daughter of William Arbuckle and Janet
(Dyer) who left Scotland and arrived in
Canada in 1853. Margaret married Walter C.
Dryden on 22 Apr 1886 and were the
parents of Percival who married Janet H.
Wilkin.

| PERCIVAL DRYDEN &
JANET H. (WILKIN) |
| The son of Walter C. Dryden
and Margaret (Kerr), Percival married
Janet H. Wilkin in about 1918. Janet is
believed to have been the daughter of
George Robert Wilkin of Canada and Mary
Campbell of Scotland. After the family
mill was sold in 1923, Percy moved to
London where he worked in the oil
industry. They remained there for sixteen
years until his retirement from Shell
Oil, thereafter returning to Harriston
where Percy served on the city council
and was Mayor from 1954-1959. He is
buried in Lot 75 Concession C.

as Elsie. They were the parents of Alan,
Norma, Thomas, Elaine, Blanche, Helen,
Joan, and Robert Kerr. Norman passed away
on 13 Sep 1974, and Elsie on 16 Apr 1988. |

daughter of Norman and Elsie, was born 07
Mar 1935 and passed away on 09 Feb 2008
in Harriston at the age of seventy-two
years, eleven months and two days. She
was the wife of the late George Noble who
had passed in 2003. The mother of Doug;
Brenda Zubick, Ronnie, Joyce Manion,
Murray, and Sharon Hardie, her funeral
services were held 14 Feb 2008. |
