| Born to Ruben and
Amorett (Wait) on 12 Mar 1884 in Tiffin, St.
Clair Co., Missouir, Thomas Albert Breeden
married Sylvia Ina Eslinger. During the 1910
census, Sylvia was residing in Breeden household
as a housekeeper. The daughter of Gertie
Eslinger, Sylvia was a foster daughter of Moses
and Charlotte Killebrew. She and Thomas were
married in Collinsville, Rogers Co., Oklahoma on
the 10th of June 1911. Thomas and Sylvia became the parents
of one child, Everett, who was born in 1911. When
he was just a toddler, his mother passed at the
young age of twenty on 04 Sep 1913. She was laid
to rest at Pleasant Springs Cemetery in Oyer,
Missouri. Alone with his young son, Thomas
decided to go to his brother Robert's place in
Montana and look for work. Robert, who was also
widowed and father of three small children, had
placed his children with his father - and it
seems likely that Everett might also have been
left in his grandfather's care while Thomas was
working in Montana.

| After the death
of his first wife, Sylvia, and while farming in
Montana, Thomas "T.A." met Miss Clara
Elizabeth Foley, a school teacher and daughter of
Joseph Henry Foley and Elizabeth Ann (Timmins).
The couple was married on 23 May 1917 in Malta,
Phillips Co., Montana and in 1920, their
household included eight year-old Everett and
well as the couple's first children Rose and
James, the youngest who was just two months old. After the birth of James,
Thomas and Clara had seven more children: Norine
Co; Deriwn P; Annie L.; Donald E.; Mary Patricia;
Bonneventure J.; and John F. Breeden.
In 1928, when
their daughter Mary Patricia was just about five
months old, the family crossed the Rock Mountains
and drove to the Williamette Valley in Oregon
where they settled. On 22 Nov 1967, Clara passed
away at the age of eighty in Eugene, Lane Co.,
Oregon. A member of the Catholic Church, Clara
was laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery in
Eugene. Thomas passed away on 03 May 1971 and was
laid to rest beside his wife. Their daughter Mary
"Patricia" is the contributor of the
Smith Photo Collection III.
