Photographed here with her husband John and her two sons Charles and Millard, Elizabeth Breeden was born in Sedalia, Pettis Co., Missouri on 06 Apr 1876. The daughter of Amorett (Wait) and Ruben Breeden, she married John Harvey Sortore on 05 May 1901.

John was the son of John Henry and Mary (Herd) and was born in Missouri in Feb of 1878. It appears from the 1860 census of Montineau Co., Missouri that the Breeden and Sortore families were well acquainted with each other before either Elizabeth or John were born.

In 1900, prior to his marriage, John Sortore and his family were residing in Indian Territory of the Cherokee Nation. After their marriage, the family resided in the counties of Rogers and Tulsa in the state of Oklahoma but their eldest son Millard, was born in the Indian Terriotry at Claremore in 1902 and the youngest son Charles in 1903.

Elizabeth Luella died on 01 Feb 1943 in Tulsa at the age of 66. She was laid to rest at Red Fork Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her husband died in Tulsa in July of 1941, and was also laid to rest at Red Fork Cemetery.
