with her husband John and her two sons Charles
and Millard, Elizabeth Breeden was born in
Sedalia, Pettis Co., Missouri on 06 Apr 1876. The
daughter of Amorett (Wait) and Ruben Breeden, she
married John Harvey Sortore on 05 May 1901. John was the son of John
Henry and Mary (Herd) and was born in Missouri in
Feb of 1878. It appears from the 1860 census of
Montineau Co., Missouri that the Breeden and
Sortore families were well acquainted with each
other before either Elizabeth or John were born.
In 1900, prior to
his marriage, John Sortore and his family were
residing in Indian Territory of the Cherokee
Nation. After their marriage, the family resided
in the counties of Rogers and Tulsa in the state
of Oklahoma but their eldest son Millard, was
born in the Indian Terriotry at Claremore in 1902
and the youngest son Charles in 1903.
Elizabeth Luella
died on 01 Feb 1943 in Tulsa at the age of 66.
She was laid to rest at Red Fork Cemetery in
Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her husband died in Tulsa in
July of 1941, and was also laid to rest at Red
Fork Cemetery.
