| George Davidson was born in
Aberlemno on 18 Apr 1809 and was the son
of James Davidson & Janet (Ross). On
15 Aug 1835, he married Charlotte Louden,
the daughter of James. It is believed
that she was christened in Glamis on 19
Mar 1812. She and George were the parents
of at least nine children, but possibly
more as a son George who was born in 1839
appears to have been enumerated with them
in the 1841 and 1851 census. Inscription reads:
"Erected by Charlotte Loudon in
loving memory of her husband George
Davidson, Blacksmith and of Crosstown
Aberlemno and North Waterbridge
Logiepert* who died at Brechin 29th Sep
1888, aged 79 years. Also of their
children: George aged 9 years, William
aged 3 years, John aged 1 year. Also of
the above, Charlotte Louden died 7th Dec
1902, aged 90 years."

| Note* -
Logiepert or Logie Pert at North Water
Bridge is just north of Brechin. See kmz locator from Google Earth;
Uncertain of ages of children. |

| James Davidson &
Mary (Smith) |
| James Davidson was born 30
May 1809, the son of Charles and Margaret
(Donald). On 07 Feb 1835, he married Mary
Smith, believed to be the daughter of
William and Elspet (Donaldson). She was
born in Brechin on 09 Jul 1811 and was
the mother of at least nine children,
including son William who left Scotland.
In 1872 he married Janet Dyer Arbuckle
(also of Scotland) in Minto Twp.,
Wellington County, Ontario and in 1882
removed from Canada and lived in Wadena,
Minnesota the remainder of their lives. Inscripton reads:
"Erected in Loving memory of James
Davidson who died at Pitkennedy 17 April
1889 aged 79 years, Also of his wife Mary
Smith who died 30th October 1885 Aged 74
years. To live in hearts we leave behind
is not to die."

John Davidson &
Jean (McGregor)

| Inscription reads:
"ERECTED by John and James Davidson
in memory of their Father, John Davidson,
some time resident at Henwellburn who
deParted this life on the 16th of
November 1830, aged 62 years. Also of
their Mother, Jean McGregor, who departed
this life on the 7th of June 1816 aged 41
years." It's possible this John was
christened in Brechin on 25 Oct 1767 and
was the son of David Davidson and
Margaret Reid. The Old Parochial Records
list a marriage of John Davidson to Jean
McGregor in Aberlemno on 06 Dec 1800 and
at least two daughters born to them:
Agnes born 09 Nov 1802 and christened on
the 21st; and daughter Martha born 02 Oct
1810 who was christened on the 7th.

Jane Mitchell

| "In memory of
Jane Mitchell, who died at Pitkennedy
Schoolhouse, 12th March 1885, aged 77
years." |
| |
| Although
the identity of Jane is not known, since
the Scots typically use the birth name of
the women, or indicate the name of the
husband, a brief search into the Old
Parochial records lists two women who
might be this Jane, should she not have
married. A Jane Mitchell was born to
David Mitchell and Agnes Dixon in Brechin
on 11 Nov 1807, and another Jane born to
William Mitchell and Mary Young in
Brechin on 30 Jul 1806. |
