Notes: Thomas Anderson Moore = husband of Clarissa (Pilcher), born 1845 in Springfield, IL and died in St. Louis, MO in 1890; daughter of Louisa (Ballard) Pilcher, granddaughter of Eleanor (Mossman) Ballard, and great-granddaughter of Archibald Mossman.

John Banks refers to 2nd husband of Archibald's widowed mother Eleanor. Archibald's father, George Mossman, died on 04 Mar 1771 in Berwick Upon Tweed, England when Archibald was just one month and 11 days old.

John Fenton was the son-in-law of Thomas A. & Clarissa (Pilcher) Moore. He was married to their daughter Clarissa Amanda Moore (1870-1916). John Fenton was born at Crimble Hall, Bamford, England.

says it is John Banks - Archibald Mossman died in Norfolk on the same day that Andrew Jackson was elected - he was buried with Masonic honors."

Norfolk, Va. Sep 6th 1895

Mr. Jon Fenton,

Dear Sir,

I can not find on the records in this office any will of either Archibald Mossman or Sarah Mossman. There is a deed from Archibald Mossman to Peter Elmelie dated June 4th 1800. Also, Sales of the Estate of Sarah Mossman, dec'd dated mar. 6th 1830. Sarah Mossman's audit dated Feb 28th 1831.
