to Mr. Pilcher
Dated: 13 February 1881,
Keithsburg, Mercer Co., Illinois
Written From: Margaret
(Mossman) Spangler; widow of Jacob |
Notes:
Margaret
(Mossman), daughter of George and Hannah (Brown)
was born in 1828 in Grayson Co., VA and died in
Keithsburg in 1923. She married Jacob Spangler in
Keithsburg in 1850. They had three children:
Arminta, Lizzie and George.
Speculate that the
Alice Pilcher she mentions here, is daughter of
Shadrach and Caroline (Ballard) who was born in
Missouri in 1859. In the 1880 census for
Keithsburg, Alice is listed with husband Sanford
Russell, age 26 a restaurant keeper born in
Michigan, father born in NY and mother born VT.
