The 1840 Census does not list any members of the household by name, except for head of household.  The names appearing below the head of household have been added by myself.  I concluded these persons from various records in my research in Clark County, therefore errors are possible.  If you locate any inaccurate information, please contact me and I shall be happy to correct it.

PROBABLE PERSON

Female? Between Age 20-30 Daily, Jane?
Male Between Age 20-30 Unknown
Male Under Age 5 Unknown
Male Under Age 5 Unknown
This person is listed two doors down from Charles Daily (born about 1800) - she may be the wife of John Daily, as he has not appeared in any of the records.  At this time, it is assumed that Charles is the son of Philip, brother of Philip, Jr. and John.  Since only head of household is listed, it would take an 1850 census to discern whether the older male in this household is actually a Daily, or whether or not this person is Jane, not James. - It is also possible that Jane listed here, is the wife of Michael Daily listed in the 1870 census.

Male Between Age 20-30 Daily, Isaac
Female Between Age 20-30  Daily, Mary
Male Under Age 5 Daily, Elias
Male Under Age 5 Daily, Robert
This family is later listed in the 1850 & 1860 census records in Owen Township.  Isaac's year of birth is determined be about 1818 born in Indiana; Mary born either IN or PA in about 1812; Elias born in Indiana in about 1838 and Robert born in Indiana in about 1839.

Male Between Age 20-30 Daily, Philip
Male Between Age 15-20 Unknown
Male Between Age 10-15 Unknown
Female Between Age 40-50 Unknown
Uncertain who this Philip is, but possible that his mother is residing with him in this household. Jacob Daily is listed a few doors prior, and Bartell James is also listed on this page in Utica Twp.

PROBABLE PERSON

Male Between Age 30-40 James, Bartlett
Female Between Age 20-30 James, Margaret (Sigman)
Female Between Age 5-10 James, Isabella
Male Under Age 5 James, John
Female Under Age 5 James, Unknown
Barlett's family appears in Utica Township in the 1850 and 1860 census records.  He appears to have been born in North Carolina in about 1810/1811; his wife Margaret born in Pennsylvania in 1813; Daughter Isabella born in about 1833; son John born in about 1836 and the female under age 5 does not appear in the later census records.  There is a six year gap in children between John & Frances listed in the 1850 census, so it is possible that the young daughter in the 1840 died before 1850 census.
