Jacob WILLSON * (83)was born about 1618 in England. He died before 1653 in Old Braintree, Norfolk Co., MA. Jacob, a sawyer, had a grant of land confirmed to him 16 April 1638 for a family at Muddy River (now Brookline). On 24 December 1638, he sold a house and lot at Muddy River (this may have been part of the same parcel). On 24 February 1640, he was granted 16 acres, based on a family of four, at Mt. Wollaston (Old Braintree). He was made a freeman on 3 June 1641. Jacob appears on a list of early proprietors of Taunton, Massachusetts, when he appeared in Plymouth (County) Court, 20 August 1644. No record indicates he lived in Taunton. In 1678 a Samuel Smith had the Taunton rights formerly belonging to Jacob.
He was married to Alice ("widdow") WILLSON * about 1640 in Massachusetts.
