Peter SULLENS and Mary CARSON
& Two Hundred Years of Descendants

by Maude (SULLENS) HOFFMAN, 1974

In 1942 Anna (BROMELSICK) SARTORI (b. 1907) wrote Among My Pioneer Ancestors, a book which contained lots of genealogical and historical information about the descendants of her early Missouri pioneer ancestors, John and Jane SULLENS, who settled near St. Louis in 1799. The book reported on page 21 that John SULLENS had a son named Peter, but nothing at all was known about any of Peter's descendants because he had remained in Kentucky.
In 1974 Maude (SULLENS) HOFFMAN (1904-1998), with the assistance of her cousin Melva (SULLENS) TAYLOR (1910-1998), published a book containing all known descendants of SARTORI's "lost" Peter SULLENS (c.1769-1852). Thanks to Forrest WEBB, Cynthia (WEBB) BENZLER, and Dee G. SULLINS, Jr., that book, Peter SULLENS and Mary CARSON & Two Hundred Years of Descendants, is reproduced in its entirety as scanned images at this Web site by
Michael S. Cole, M.D.
