Bristol Maltster, John Stubbs of Winterbourne in Gloucestershire
and John Windle of City of Worcester yeoman

good lawful money to be paid (it does not state how much) sealed
1st day of May in the reign of George, King of Great Britain,
France, etc.

The condition of this obligation is such that if the above bounden
Daniel Stubbs the natural & lawful son and administrator of
all and singular goods, chattels and credits of Daniel Stubbs,
senior, late of Eldersfield, yeoman, intestate, deceased do make
and cause to be made a true and perfect inventory of all and singular
the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased which have
or shall come to the hands possession or knowledge of him the
said Daniel Stubbs or into the hands and possession of any person
or persons for him the same so made do exhibit or cause to be
exhibited unto the registry of the Consistory Court of Worcester
at or before the last day of December next ensuing. And the same
goods chattels and credits and all other goods chalets {chattels}
and credits of the said deceased at the time of his death which
at any time after shall come to the hands or possession of any
other person or persons for him do well and truly administer according
to law and further do make or cause to be made a true and just
account of his said administration at or before the last day of
April next if required and all the rest and residue of the said
administrators account the same being first examined and allowed
by the Judge or Judges by his or their decree or sentence pursuant
to the true intent and meaning of a late Act of Parliament made
in the twenty second & twenty third years of the reign of
the late Sovereign, Lord King Charles II (Instituted an act for
the better settling of intestates (estates) shall limit and appoint
and if it shall hereafter appear that any last will and testament
was made by the said deceased and the Executor or Executors therein
named do exhibit the same into the said court making re{q}uest
to have it allowed and approved accordingly if the said Daniel
Stubbs above bounden being thereunto required to render and deliver
the said letters of Administration (approbation of such testament
being first had and made) in the said court then this obligation
to be void and none effect or also to remain in full force and
concern.

In 1727, Daniel Stubbs, Jr. was living in Bristol, John Stubbs
in Winterbourne which is just on the northern edge of Bristol.
Thomas Stubbs is not mentioned in the probate document having
moved to America about 1713. Apparently brother Daniel, Jr. and John Stubbs also moved to the
Bristol area.
