Introduction
HELLO: Welcome to my Ancestral Family.

This website contains information about my ancestry. The paternal line originated for the most part in Germany. The families Strieby and Lukenbeal emigrated to the American Colonies from the Palatinate, and probably also connect to Switzerland, though no proof is found.

Hans Michael Strieby , age 17, arrived in Philadelphia in 1743. Also on the passenger list was a Jacob Strieby, age 44. Their relationship is unknown. Hans Michael was a clockmaker, and at least two of his sons, Michael and George, continued in that profession. Several tall clocks of their manufacture survive and are of fine museum quality.

The maternal side of the family includes family lines originating in Ireland, Germany and England. Many of these families were among the earlist arrivals in the American Colonies, both in Virginia and New England.

For paternal lines, see: STRIEBY, STREEPEY, LUKENBEAL, HOUSER, McCARTY, KOHL.

For maternal lines, see: KEISER, KISER, INGALLS, OSGOOD, EMERY, FRENCH, LORD, DICKINSON, CHEW, CARTER, WASHBURN, CUMMINGS, OLDFIELD, PACKER.

T
he database includes personal information sheets with considerable narrative detail. Additional narratives and personal information may be added as the material is created.

I will welcome any comments, corrections or additions. Any information or assistance on families in this database with the following surnames would be appreciated: DICKINSON, HOUSER, LEWELLEN, FREELAND, WILKINSON, ROBINSON, FINLEY.

My thanks to many "sumkindacuzins" who, over the years have contributed and assisted in creating this genealogy.
