1. SARAH3 STORMS
(ISAAC2, STORMS1) was born November 19, 1820 in Redfield, Oswego County, New York, and died 1864 in Hillsdale County, Michigan. She married WILLIAM L. WOLCOTT1 August 19, 1838 in Fremont, Sandusky County, Ohio, son of WILLIAM WOLCOTT and SUSAN FORDHAM. He was born October 13, 1818 in Leroy, Genesee County, NY, and died June 09, 1890 in Hillsdale County, Michigan.Notes for SARAH STORMS:
A few years after the Storms family moved from Oswego County, New York to Sandusky County, Ohio in the mid 1830's, Sarah married William L. Wolcott, she is called 'Sally' on marriage register. A year later the couple had their first child, a son they named Myron. 2 years later another son, David named for Sarah's brother, was born in 1842.
In 1846 Sarah's husband William had the unfortunate task of testifying in the proceedings against his sister-in-law, Louisa Storms on the charges of insanity. This must have been a very uncomfortable and painful situation for the family to go through. Shortly after this the family moved to Scipio Township, Hillsdale County, Michigan where William farmed his land and was also a minister in the United Brethren Church. (see "Biographies")
Sarah's life was cut short at the age of 44 years, leaving her husband with 3 young daughters. William remarried in 1865, to a friend of the family, Anna Jennings who had been living with the couple. Anna raised her stepdaughters as her own and bore William two more children.
