THOMAS SMITH ('Argy') STORM (1833-1928),
fisherman, (in well known unique costume with his more
conventially attired sons Oliver (1878-1956), Thomas
(1865-1936), William (1860-1936), and Reuben (1869-1946),
all of whom served as Coxwain of the Bay lifeboat. 'Argy'
lived to be 95, and when he died a suprised neighbour
blurted out, "Why! There was nothing wrong with
him!". This is believed to be the 'Fosdyk' family of Leo Walmsley's novel Three Fevers, filmed by J. Arthur Rank as Turn of the Tide in 1935. |
