Lyman Edward Bemont

  General Notes:

The old Bemont homestead in Glastonbury was on Hopewell Road near a blueberry farm, according to Mary Barber Tomlinson. Lyman Bemont owned the farm and his daughter Rachel and her husband, Alonzo Barber lived there and worked on the farm for 10 years.  Rachel and Alonzo left so they could get a place of there own. This is from an interview, Joan Snipes with Mary Tomlinson on September 5, 1983.

Lyman married Rachel F Evans, daughter of William Evans and Jane Churchill, on Aug 12, 1855 in Glastonbury, Hartford, CT.^{1 2} (Rachel F Evans was born on Aug 11, 1838 in West Point, NY ⁵, died on Mar 14, 1906 in Glastonbury, Hartford, CT ⁵ and was buried in 1906 in Old South Cemetery, Glastonbury, Hartford, CT.)
