Below are links to a series of letters that came into my possession. A brief summary of some of the key participants:

Iva Dodds
Iva Dodds was born in Gouverneur NY on August 10, 1880. Her parents were Clark Robert Dodds and Sarah J. Honeycomb. She was a school teacher for over 35 years and never married. She died at the age of 95 on March 25, 1976 and is buried with her parents in Riverside Cemetery in Gouverneur.

Dick Marsaw
Richard Marsaw was born in 1873 in Rossie, NY the son of James and Susan Marsaw. He married Blanche Weaver and had two children: Richard (born June 8, 1907) and Lena B. (born July 1, 1905) who later married Royal Gordon.

Lena Marsaw Gordon (Mrs. Royal Gordon)
Lena Marsaw was born July 1, 1905 and died in April 1974 in Hammond, NY. She married Royal Gordon sometime between April 1923 and October 1924.

Gussie Jepson
The Gussie in the letters is believed to be Agnes Augusta Jepson of Rossie who was born in August 1878, the daughter of George and Agnes Hall Jepson. Augusta had a twin brother George Arnold and a sister Frances that line up with names from the letters. She also had a sister, Maggie Belle who might be the "Belle" mentioned in some of the letters.

Frank Woodside
Frank Woodside was born in January 1878 in Hammond, NY and was still living there with his parents in 1900. He was the son of Alexander and Ellen Woodside. In 1920 he is living in Hammond with his wife Lena and their 14 year old daughter, Dorathea. It is not known if this Lena is connected to the Lena Honeywell of the first letter.

Includes references to family names: Marsaw, Honeywell, Carmon, Soper, Freeman, Swan, Rogers, Freeman, O'Haro, Folts, and Piper.

May 1, 1899 Letter, from Hattie in Watertown to Iva Dodds in Pope's Mills, NY.
Includes references to family names: Dodds, McBrier, and Gussie Jepson. Discusses fashion of the times, weather, and entertainment in Watertown.

June 5, 1899 Letter, from Hattie in Watertown to Iva Dodds in Pope's Mills, NY.
Includes references to family names: Dodds, McEatheron. Discusses "Institute Days" and plans for graduation along with general chit-chat.

January 1, 1900 Letter, from Frank Woodside in Hammond, NY to Iva Dodds in Gouverneur, NY
Includes references: Iva Dodds, Frank Woodside, Clark LaFaney, Murray, Gussie Jepson, Clarence, Lula Barley, Andrew Chi***, Belle, Roland, Rupert, Clyde, and W. D. Evans. Discusses general information about common friends and activities.

February 12, 1900 Letter, from Gussie Jepson in Hammond, NY to Iva Dodds in Pope's Mills, NY.

April 17, 1900 Letter, from Dot (Frances?) Jepson in Hammond, NY to Priscilla (Iva?) Dodds in Macomb, NY.
Includes references: Iva Dodds, Dot & Gussie Jepson, Murray, Maude, Frank Woodside, Mr. Rose, Herb, Mac, Frank Burke, Sarah Wilson, Caddy, Will Wright, Cassie, Dolph. General gossip and chat, discussions of a trip to Ogdensburg, etc.

June 18, 1900 Letter, from Gussie Jepson in Hammond, NY to Iva Dodds in Hailesboro, NY.

Oct 8, 1924 Wedding Announcement, addressed to Mr. Royal Gordon annoucing the marriage of Irene Lillian Miller (daughter of Frank W. Miller) to Benjamin J. Gordon on Wednesday, October 8, 1924 in Hammond, NY.

Oct 17, 1928 Letter, from Lena "Asnol"(?) in Theresa, NY to Mrs. Royal (Lena Marsaw) Gordon in South Hammond, NY.
Includes references: Royal Gordon, Blanche Marsaw, John, Bernice, Earl, Vera, George, Charlie, Cecil Asnol, Delbert, Maxine, Marguerite. Appears to be from someone relatively newly married, who's husband (Cecil Asnol) is working a distance away. Various gossip and news.

July 29, 1929 Letter, from John Scott in Mullan, Idaho to Mrs. Royal (Lena Marsaw) Gordon in South Hammond, NY.
